Time to try another hotel in the Frisco area. After checking rates and reviews we landed at Staybridge. I am not sure of the hotel’s age. The lack of power outlets in the room, and the dated furnishings, hint that it has been around for a while. The rooms aren’t quite as efficient as some of the newer hotels, specifically storage space (and power outlets). The building is well maintained. The front desk staff is fantastic, friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar layout is well-organized and well managed by the alert staff. This really helps to prevent traffic jams during the morning breakfast rush. Great food options. Fortunately, there wasn’t a mob of twelve-year-old soccer players at the breakfast bar competing for the waffle maker. I wonder if it is always this calm on the weekends? It was nice this morning.
Our stay was great. We arrived a little early but they got us checked right in. Staff was pleasant and professional. Everything was clean and comfortable from the furniture to the climate control. The pool and basket ball court are small but high quality and comfortable. Breakfast was pretty amazing considering it was included. Coffee was good. Location was good. A lot nearby, even walking distance if you like walking
Booked a hotel room this morning through their website. We got the got the receipt and confirmation number and everything only to receive a call a few hours later from extremely condescending woman from the hotel telling us that they don't have a card on file and they're going to cancel our reservations immediately unless we give her a card right now. We told her that we'll be there shortly, and we can pay in person. The woman absolutely refused demanded the card over the phone. We told her we would not be doing that. So she told us she's gonna cancel the reservation and hung up the phone. We called the hotel back asked for a supervisor the woman we spoke to previously said, there is no supervisor on duty, then verified who we were because of our phone number and said that she emailed us a cancelation confirmation. We will not be staying here and we will be contacting management and I would advise anybody that stays in the Colony to avoid this particular hotel.
I stayed here for a week and loved every part of it. The staff were kind and welcoming, the rooms were comfortable, and the amenities really made the stay feel easy. The free breakfast deserves a special mention—it was phenomenal! They had everything from toast, coffee, juices, and soda to hot items like eggs, breakfast meats, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, plus extras like scones, bagels, yogurt, and granola. It felt more like a restaurant buffet than a hotel breakfast. Another great perk was the free laundromat on site, which came in super handy after all my thrift shopping. The pool was on the smaller side but clean, not crowded, and perfect for relaxing. I especially loved the courtyard—it was beautiful and thoughtfully designed, with a mushroom fountain filling the space with the soothing sound of running water. There were porch swings, BBQ grills, and little tucked-away areas so you could have privacy even if other people were outside. Overall, a really comfortable and welcoming place to stay—I’d come back in a heartbeat.
We arrived at the Staybridge Suites in The Colony and we were immediately greeted by Mica at the front desk. She was super friendly, efficient and made us feel right at home. Later we had an adjustment to make with a reservation and she quickly assisted us with competence and a great attitude. It is so refreshing to meet someone so customer service oriented who made our travel so easy. Thanks, Mica- we'll be back.
