Extremely clean and well maintained. No stains anywhere on the carpets. The room and bathrooms evidently have been recently updated. Plenty of good quality clean towels. The staff were very professional, polite, and helpful.
Attendant was nice and accommodating at check in. The layout of the room was great but several floor tiles were loose in the bathroom and kitchenette. I had to cut my stay short due to an unwelcome guest and didn’t get so much as an apology. I asked the front desk attendant to have the manager call me and have yet to hear from anyone.
Checked in and Kimberly I believe was her name was friendly very nice went back down later and it was like a totally different person she was not friendly anymore she had a attitude barely wanted to answer any questions. Was never just at the front desk always had to make noise to let her know someone was there. I thought maybe she was having a bad day but this continues for the whole stay. We had five rooms for a family reunion and I wish we had stayed elsewhere
Dismayed to report that this location has gone significantly downhill. I’m a silver elite through my work, and my husband and I have stayed here multiple times through the years, for business and pleasure, previously without any issues whatsoever. It has been my number one choice for stays in this part of the metroplex for accessibility and comfort, for which Marriott is usually reliable. However, It appears that this building has experienced significant flooding or leaking, because the entire hotel reeks of mildew and unaddressed dampness. This was further bolstered by the presence of multiple fans going in the hallways, which, okay, but what is that going to do for the whole building? It’s in the walls at this point. Corporate is going to have to address this, because this problem is beyond the scope of what local management can realistically resolve. And initally I thought this was a fluke exclusive to the room on floor 3, which also smelled like cigarette smoke. Extremely strange for a nonsmoking property. I asked to switch rooms, which the front desk agent accommodated promptly. Unfortunately, it was even worse in the next room, which was on the ground floor. Again, mildew, dampness (even the sheets were damp!) and the absolute reek of cigarettes. I did note burn marks on several of the furnishings and upholstery, and again, this was so far and away from my last experience at this hotel it was just shocking. I explained this to the front desk agent, and that I would be staying at another hotel because of these issues. I was more than willing to work with being charged for the first night, given the lateness of the day, but she very kindly refunded my entire stay, which demonstrated to me that perhaps this very same issue had been brought up by previous guests. At the very least, I cannot commend her decisiveness and professionalism enough, state of the building aside. It’s a shame that someone of her caliber of service has to work there. She was genuinely great. It’s just a shame. This location used to be incredibly nice and was very convenient to North Dallas, but I can no longer recommend this hotel. Again, this is a significant departure from my other, genuinely fantastic and comfortable stays at this location, so this makes me think that there was some significant storm damage incurred in the meanwhile that has yet to be addressed. Deeply unfortunate, but grateful for the refund.
The only service that I could say was a wonderful service was the lady in the kitchen Isabel she was so attentive the whole time my family was eating. We have stayed here for years and I remember the old manager Mike he was sooooo nice and seemed like he had the hotel up to date. Unfortunately this past stay it wasn’t great room was hot and smelled like mildew. The kitchen staff Isabel was beyond sweet as usual it was beyond me to see her work sooo hard and finding out she has so AC in the kitchen. I walked in to ask her a question and I felt how hot it was in there. I felt soooo bad for her she was sweating sooooo much and yet she had a smile on her face and helped us with our needs. This hotel needs a major upgrade it’s going down since new management.
