We stayed at Homewood Suites in Plano, TX with our family and found it to be good value for money. The accommodation was perfect for our family—spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The room had a fridge, microwave, stove, and kitchen utensils, which made our stay very comfortable. The hot breakfast served in the morning was a great bonus. The only downside was seeing a roach 🪳 in the common restroom on the main floor, which honestly freaked me out a bit. I was really hoping not to see any in our room—and thankfully, we didn’t. Overall, despite that one concern, it was a good experience and a comfortable stay for families.
The staff was wonderful. The building & rooms are the opposite. Old, damaged, & musky. Old & bad linens. Old & bad carpet. Holes in the walls, dents in the doors, missing paint & stains all over the place. Our entire floor smelled like marijuana & Indian food. Did not live up to what I expect from a Homewood.
I've seen other folks mention that the hotel was undergoing renovations months ago... the lobby seems to have been renovated. It looked and smelled good. Unfortunately, as soon as you left the lobby, the hotel was old, dingy, and smelly. The elevators are old and slow. The hallway carpets are stained and were not vacuumed in the 3 days that we were there. While our two bedroom suite was very convenient for our family, I actually had to shower in my kids' bathroom as our shower has zero water pressure if you didn't want a cold shower. Elsewhere in the room, there was missing or broken trim, a broken cupboard, and the door only closed firmly if the deadbolt was locked. As for service, the kids didn't complain about breakfast, so that was a plus. However, on our last day, housekeeping ignored the "do not disturb" sign and unlocked our deadbolt and let herself in at about 11:15am... Check out is noon. We were in the process of packing and started loading the car a few minutes later only to find our keys deactivated. When I asked about this at the desk, I was told "that happens sometimes." All in all, for the location and being able to spread out, it was absolutely not worth the price or having to hold your breath in various areas.
The rooms, lobby, and dining area were clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. I'd stay here again. My only "complaint" is the bathroom lighting and vanity aren't great for makeup and hair when you have more than 1 person sharing the room. Not a major deal, we made it work, but a little extra vanity with an outlet, or a full length mirror somewhere in the room would have been nice.
Wow wow wow. Regina, Kiki, and Kendy was perfectly amazing and so incredibly human. This doesn’t feel like just a hotel, it feels like THEIR hotel. Everyone one of these ladies was consistent, in a good mood, understanding, polite, and equal. My boss had the same experience with these ladies so I hope we continue to book here on our company work trips. Thank yall!! Yall really were the peace to our crazy week at work
