Holiday Inn Express & Suites Plano - The Colony, an IHG Hotel

I had an amazing two-night stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and extremely attentive. The check-in process was smooth, and my room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. The bed was one of the best I’ve ever slept in, and the amenities were top-notch. The location was perfect, making it easy to get around, and the hotel offered everything I needed for a relaxing stay. Housekeeping did an excellent job keeping everything fresh each day, and the small details really made the experience feel special. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting.

I don’t usually give 5 stars, but Kat (daytime concierge) and the whole staff are excellent. Four stars for the room, because, well it’s a Holiday Inn Express. The location is near anything you need, food, clothes, cigars, gas, whatever. Everything is very clean and housekeeping was exceptional. We had the faucet break while we were there and they had it fixed within a couple of hours. Definitely will stay here again.

Update: The manager reached out the very next day and assured me that these issues would be addressed. I found her to be very professional and sincere. I am changing my over-all score to a 3 star and I will give them another stay and will update accordingly. The hotel is pretty well taken care of however the last two stays I've had there seems to be a lack of solid policies. One stay there was no luggage carts available there was one but it was full of luggage, when I asked where the customer was I was told that they were waiting for a ride. I responded where are they as there was no one around. They didn't know? I waited for awhile and nothing, employee stated that the manager knew and I told them to let him know that this was unacceptable and was finally granted the cart after the employee off loaded it. This stay a Tesla was parked in the check in/out zone at the door. Usually not an issue but the driver parked pretty center of the area forcing me to squeeze in to check in and off load. I checked in and asked where the guest was that was parked there. I was told it was most likely a door dash driver, ok. I did my thing got my luggage up to the room and returned my cart, parked my vehicle and returned to see the vehicle still there. I mentioned it to the check in person that customary practices at HI is 15 minutes to execute the process and move your vehicle to a parking spot. She said she never heard of that? As a Diamond Elite member I travel quite a bit and yes it is general practice and considerate. Twenty minutes later I see the employee with the passenger side door open talking to the driver and she walks in to see me there. I asked if they were finally parking and was told no that they were not even guests just visiting someone that was. There was empty parking places for them and this is unacceptable behavior and the employees tolerance for it unprofessional. This is the last time I will stay here, there are other IHG places that run a tighter ship!

Staff is Awesome. They always go out of their way. I recommend, visit this hotel. They will take care of your needs. Zoey did a Awesome job taking care of me today. 1/6/26 She deserves a raise for her work performance. I gave her a 5.0. Greg Kelsey

This was perfectly located central to everything we needed. We were able to check in and out quickly. Rooms were clean and spacious. Our only complaint was that some of the hot items on the continental breakfast were cold even though it was 10 min after they put them out.
