Candlewood Suites Plano North by IHG

The room was great, clean comfortable. Location is good as well right off Hwy 75. Just so others are aware, even if you are an IHG member a lot of the perks and expectations do not get recognized here at this location. For instance, the option to get best rate availability and deposit requirements do not apply. You do have to pay the deposit and you may possibly pay more than expected in the app. I also reached out to support with IHG and they confirmed this is the case. Hotels are individually owned and will make their own rules regardless what the brand is telling you. So really there is no membership perk and you may not be recognized by that specific hotel. You may even be better off, just using a third-party app where you can actually get perks through the app such as credit back. Upgrade availability. Free night. All of that is covered by the third-party. You do not have to worry about the hotel.

Front desk staff very courteous and respectful. The room was something else. I was greeted by tiny baby roaches scurrying around on the counter top. When I came in on day 2 after being out all day, the smell in the room was awful! The front desk staff was notified and I was told detail cleaning is done once every 7 days but I will be put on the list for cleaning the next day. There was no cleaning done other than to lay the bed,take trash out and change out the towels. I intentionally left food crumbs on the table and it was still there on my return! The morning I checked out, there was a roach perched on the sheets! I guess if I was welcomed by roaches, it's only appropriate to be sent off by them. I didnt bother mentioning it to the front staff but I wont be staying there again. I'll say this though, if detailed cleaning is done every 7 days, then it really needs to be done, otherwise change the cleaning schedule and get an exterminator!

There is a new lady at the front desk, and she could be more considerate seeing she’s in a position of servicing customers! We asked for a late checkout the night before and they told us to ask in the morning. So when we called she said, “ no, I’ve already given out late checkouts to other guests!” So at 11:06 she knocks on the door and when I opened it she says, “Yall just need to come up out the room!” I politely let her know I was putting my shoes on and on my way out. We are gold and silver members and have never had an issue at this location. I feel like she could shave handled the situation better and understand that people have spent their money for the service she’s employed to provide

The furniture in or room left much to be desired, old and dirty. Beds were okay, very nice bedding but too soft for us. The laundry room is open 24 hours but the washers don't spin out all of the water, need extra dry time. Staff friendly and accommodating and that made our stay a good one .

I'm absolutely delighted with my stay at Candlewood Suites! The moment I walked in, I felt right at home. The fact that they provided cleaning tools and a dishwasher was a huge bonus, making it easy for me to maintain a clean and tidy space. The suite itself is very spacious, with plenty of drawers and storage space. The full fridge was a game-changer for me, allowing me to stock up on groceries and cook meals in the comfort of my own space. What really stood out to me, though, was the cleanliness and attention to detail. The suite was spotless, and I didn't encounter any issues with rodents or pests. The cozy atmosphere made it the perfect retreat for me, especially given my busy schedule. Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with Candlewood Suites and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and hassle-free stay. The amenities and services they provide are top-notch, and I feel grateful to have found such a wonderful place to call home.
