I can't believe such an enriching, educational place is completely free! If you happen to encounter one of the staff members, he may even guide you inside the truck for a personal, fascinating explanation—and his enthusiasm is absolute, even for just one person. I'm so thankful for the joyful time they provided. Despite my poor English, they were incredibly patient and welcoming. I found the experience to be such great value that I happily left a small tip, though it was far less than the happiness they gave me.
Finally went inside after a few attempts where it was closed. Nice museum for a local visit. We toured the train car too! Suggested donation is 1$ per kiddo and 2$ per adult.
Our homeschool group did a field trip here and it was so fun! The docents were enthusiastic and great teachers. It’s a small museum but very interesting and interactive for even young children. Highly recommend for a field trip or just on your own!
We had such a great time visiting here. This building is historic to Plano and was built in 1908! The people working here were so fun and knowledgeable about the site and everything to do with trains. Even though the building is small, it felt like a full on museum experience with all the information and interactive stations they offered. We learned so much! Seeing the items that were used back in the early 1900's really made me feel in awe of how hard working people were back then and didn't even know it! We have come such a long way, technology wise, in the last hundred years it's almost unbelievable. Thank you for offering this to everyone!
Our museum visit today was nothing short of amazing! The moment we walked in, we were greeted by our guide, an incredibly knowledgeable and warm-hearted Iranian lady named Farangis. Her passion for history truly brought the history of rail road in Texas to life! She filled us in on fascinating details, answering every question we had with enthusiasm and depth. Her kindness and engaging storytelling made the entire experience unforgettable. We left feeling inspired and with a newfound appreciation for this important chapter of Texas history. Highly recommend this tour!
