Rachel really knows how to create a warm and inviting atmosphere every time we visit. From the moment we walk in, she’s engaging, full of energy, and super attentive. It’s clear how much she cares for our dogs; she takes the time to understand each one and their specific needs. The service she provides is genuinely focused on what the animals require, not just about making a sale. I completely trust her advice for my older dogs. Thank you, Rachel!
I had a great experience here. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and helped. I received lots of information and education and was able to easily get the foods I needed for my dog. They have a great variety of high quality foods to choose for your fur babies. I’ll be back.
I recently had a very uncomfortable experience at this Hollywood Feed location while shopping for Christmas gifts for my dogs. When I arrived, the leash and collar wall was almost completely blocked by three large pallets of inventory. I had to squeeze between the pallets and the display just to look at products, which felt unsafe and made it hard to properly see my options or check sizing. Because of this, it took me longer than usual to decide what would work for my dogs. While I was browsing, I noticed an employee in a nearby aisle who appeared to be pretending to work while watching me. We made eye contact more than once. Later, while looking at chew bones, I noticed two female employees standing nearby talking to each other and again, just watching me. Despite being in the store for about 30 minutes and clearly struggling, no one approached me to ask if I needed help. When I finally asked one of them a question, the assistance I received was minimal and unhelpful. At checkout, I was told to use self-checkout, but the cashier then came around and bagged each item as I scanned it, which felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. I also asked if I could do a partial payment, meaning I wanted to use two different forms of payment, but he seemed to think I was joking about only paying for part of my purchase and responded dismissively. So I had to repeat myself and explain what I meant. Awkward? What made this experience worse was the overall feeling of being singled out. I was not greeted when I walked in, even though I observed all other customers being greeted, made aware of sales, and treated more warmly. I don’t like to assume intent, but as the only Hispanic customer in the store at the time, the lack of basic courtesy combined with the very obvious monitoring made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I’ve shopped at this Hollywood Feed location before, but this experience left me disappointed and very unlikely to return. Better aisle safety, customer service, and awareness would go a long way.
Abbey (the store manager) and Cole at the Richardson location were AMAZING. Totally exceeded any of my expectations and so much more. The store was busy and they still went so surprisingly attentive to my needs, while also diligently attending to other customers smoothly. 🤗 Abbey, the manager, even looked through my MASSIVE history of purchases all the way back to 2017 just to make sure that I got the correct divider size for my new puppy and I had no idea what size my new crate was before that. 🤗 Cole is also so tender-hearted for animals and the passion he has for them is touchingly evident, and moving. Abbey too is, as she recommended beef lung to me - and now I am finely training my puppy with a very high reward product - while also not making her sick from things far too rich before Thank you so much Richardson location staff particularly Abbey and Cole that helped me that day. Yall were so good to me and I truly appreciate that so much, you made my day and truly helped me with your fantastic professionalism and knowledge. 🥳🥰
The single star is not because of the employees. They are pet people and are always very friendly, helpful and I enjoy interacting with them. But...the self checkout? What!? The prices are outrageous (yes it is good stuff for the most part) and now corporate gets the bright idea that we should check ourselves out? One thing that sets Hollywood Feed apart from other pet supply stores is the personal interaction and service. That includes checkout. Get a clue corporate! You have just knocked the whole vibe of your store off, and that vibe is why people come to Hollywood Feed. Now you are on your way to being just another PetX. I feel bad for your employees having to hear how dumb of an idea this was all day long. I foresee a corporate management position opening up when you come to your senses and whatever short-sighted individual that came up with this is canned. Call me.
